Ancient Egypt (3500B.C.-500B.C.) Ashley Bixby, JJ Sandoval

Ancient Egypt was a place filled with rulers and historical monument that are today astonishing to us on how they accomplished such outstanding things. The people from Ancient Egypt didn’t have nearly the equipment that we have today but were able to build such marvelous things such as The Great Pyramid at Giza or the sphinx.
The Nile River was a huge part in everyday life for the Egyptians. It went northwards over 4,000 miles which puts it at the longest river in the world. It was a major source of water and produced good soil for the people. The Nile splits into two major regions producing upper Egypt and lower Egypt. The people of Egypt had many beliefs of life after death and that you would either have good karma or bad karma. They preserved bodies using the process of mummification to dry out the dead bodies to preserve them with rotting. Another achievement the Egyptians had was The Great Pyramid at Giza. It was constructed by King Khufu in 2450 B.C. This massive pyramid stands 756 feet tall and covers 13 acres of land. In front of the pyramid was a statue called the Sphinx. It is believed that the statue resemble Khufu’s son khafre. Ancient Egypt had three kingdoms, the middle kingdom (2050- 1652 B.C.), the new kingdom (1567-1085 B.C.) and the old kingdom (2700-2200 B.C.). Egyptian society was based mainly off of an authority system which was rulers were at the high class while people like untouchables who were the lowest class were know as “nobody’s.”

The Ancient Egyptians made themselves a good lifestyle with everything they had. They used common everyday items and life’s necessities and communicated through writing systems such as hieroglyphics. All in all, life in Ancient Egypt depended a lot on what part of the society you were in and what dynasty you came from.
